Hi! I’m Anoopa John, a Branding and Graphic Designer with over 15 years of experience in crafting brands and building design systems.
Since 2015, I’ve run my independent design practice, partnering with organisations of all sizes—from startups to established brands—to create impactful visual identities and thoughtful design solutions that align with their goals. Whether I’m working in hospitality, education, technology, or law, I’m driven by the belief that design is as much about solving problems as it is about storytelling.
I’ve worked both in agencies and independently, always seeking opportunities to tackle new challenges and evolve my approach. I prioritize creating design environments that nurture collaboration and bring the best ideas to life.
When I’m not designing, you’ll find me contributing to The Hard Copy, experimenting in the kitchen, or getting lost in museums.

Areas of Interest
• Design for learning, social mobility, accessibility
• Art, art history, art criticism
• Speculative design
• Brand design, strategy
• Product design
• A.I. and its implication
• Sustainable creative practices
• Studio culture, design labour
Lately, I've been trying to collect my thoughts around these interests in my blog, One Eighty Degrees
Why I Do This
I thrive on projects that balance creativity and strategy—especially in areas like education, cultural preservation, and sustainability. My work is driven by the belief that design can make a difference, and I’m always looking for opportunities to collaborate on meaningful projects.
I also share my thoughts on these ideas on my blog, One Eighty Degrees, where I write about design, culture, and the stories behind the work I create.
Outside Office Hours
In my free time, I make jams and cakes, or catch up on reading the pile of books that are always around me. It’s usually fantasy, and occasionally, a few carefully picked non-fiction titles. (Find my pile count at GoodReads)
When I get breaks in between my projects, I make travel plans. With a deep interest in art, architecture and design history, these plans take me to places of historical importance, on long walks in old cities, and to museums.
